On Tuesday, House Republicans overwhelmingly voted to end the partial government shutdown and fund 11 of the 12 appropriations bills. Following House passage, Speaker Johnson delivered remarks to reporters.



On Tuesday afternoon, Speaker Johnson joined President Trump in the Oval Office as he signed the bill to end the partial government shutdown.



On Tuesday, at the weekly House Republican Leadership press conference, Speaker Johnson discussed House Republicans’ overcoming Democrat objections to responsibly end the partial government shutdown, the status of DHS negotiations, and Republicans making tax filing easier for working families.



HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK
On Thursday at the 74th National Prayer Breakfast, Speaker Johnson delivered brief remarks and offered a prayer for our nation and its leaders.



Last week, Speaker Johnson delivered remarks at the Treasury Department's Trump Accounts Summit to highlight this transformational new policy, signed into law through Republicans’ Working Families Tax Cuts bill. Speaker Johnson said, "Good government policy empowers the individual, and it nurtures and encourages the best of human ingenuity and human progress. That's exactly what the Trump Accounts aim to do."



After Republicans voted to end the partial government shutdown, Speaker Johnson was asked to defend the Biblical case for border security and immigration enforcement. After doing so, Speaker Johnson posted a longer explanation that he drafted during the Biden Administration.

On Sunday, Speaker Johnson joined Fox News Sunday and Meet the Press to discuss the state of play regarding the partial government shutdown and the ongoing implementation of the Working Families Tax Cuts legislation as tax season begins.

This past weekend, Speaker Johnson spoke with Entergy Louisiana President Phillip May to discuss the progress made to restore power following major outages due to Winter Storm Fern. Crews and lineman have worked around the clock to ensure full recovery for Louisiana residents, and we continue to pray for the communities impacted by the winter weather.



This week, Speaker Johnson appointed Brian Patchett to the National Council on Disability, an independent federal agency within the executive branch focused on advancing policies supporting Americans with disabilities. Mr. Patchett is the President and CEO of the Louisiana Association for the Blind and a current resident of Louisiana’s Fourth Congressional District.
