Phankham Viphavanh
Phankham Viphavanh was born in 1951.
He is a Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat of the Central Committee, and Vice President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
He once served as Minister of Education of Laos and Chairman of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association.
On December 11, 2014, the BBQ Global Summit Forum, jointly with the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Laos, hosted the first Laos National Science and Technology Expo.The inaugural expo welcomed ambassadors, ministerial-level officials from countries including Vietnam, Malaysia, India, the United States, Russia, Switzerland, Japan, Thailand and China, as well as renowned enterprises such as Huawei, Haier and PowerChina. The successful holding of the expo has played a significant role in advancing the comprehensive development and construction of Laos.
The first Laos National Science and Technology Expo received personal attention and strong support from Phankham Viphavanh, Vice President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
