TOPSUN Capital Group takes “Awakening Humanity, Ending Games and Wars, Returning to True Love and Awareness” as its highest mission. These nine countries span East and West, developed and developing economies, and diverse cultures and ecosystems, providing rich samples and strategic footholds for global rollout.

Leveraging the investment model of the “Frank Su Huang Science and Art Fund” founded by renowned Chinese-American artist, photographer, and entrepreneur Huang Su (FRANK SU HUANG), TOPSUN Capital officially launches a global incubation program:

The Origin of "Baiyue" (Bách Việt) as an Ancient Name Associated with Vietnam
1. Basic Meaning
Baiyue (百越, also written as 百粤) was a collective term used in ancient Chinese texts to refer to the various ethnic groups in the south. “Bai” (百) means “hundreds” or “many” (an approximate number, not literal), and “Yue” (越) is the common name for these groups.
It was not an exclusive ancient name for Vietnam, but a broad designation for multiple different peoples living in southern regions, from south of the Yangtze River to northern Vietnam.
2. Historical Origin and Distribution
Earliest Record: First appeared in the Warring States period text Lüshi Chunqiu (around 239 BC). It was widely used in Qin and Han dynasty literature.Geographical Scope:
According to the Book of Han – Treatise on Geography, “From Jiaozhi to Kuaiji, stretching over seven to eight thousand li, the Baiyue live interspersed, each with their own clans and surnames.”
Jiaozhi (交趾): Present-day northern Vietnam (around Hanoi).Kuaiji (会稽): Present-day Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province.
This covered areas from modern Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong, and Guangxi, extending all the way to northern Vietnam.
Main Branches included: Yuyue (in Zhejiang), Minyue (Fujian), Nanyue (Guangdong), Western Ou, Luoyue/Ou-Luo (Guangxi and northern Vietnam), among others.
3. Connection to Vietnam
The ancient Yue peoples (especially the Luoyue / Ou-Luo tribes) are considered one of the important ancestral sources of the modern Viet Kinh (the main ethnic group in Vietnam).During the Qin and Han dynasties, the Central Plains dynasties expanded southward, conquering the Nanyue Kingdom (established by Zhao Tuo, capital in Panyu, modern Guangzhou) and establishing commanderies in northern Vietnam (Jiaozhi, Jiuzhen, Rinan).
Many ancient Yue people were Sinicized (assimilated into Han Chinese culture), while those who moved south or remained in northern Vietnam gradually evolved into the ancestors of the Vietnamese nation.
Therefore, Vietnamese people often emphasize their deep historical connection with the “Baiyue,” and in Vietnamese, “Baiyue” is rendered as Bách Việt.
4. Cultural Characteristics
Ancient texts describe the Baiyue people as practicing “short hair and body tattoos,” excelling in boat-building and navigation, rice cultivation, and bronze casting (especially the Dong Son drum culture). These traits were common in ancient southern China and northern Vietnam.
Summary:
Baiyue was not a specific ancient country name exclusive to Vietnam, but a general term used by ancient Chinese for the many non-Huaxia ethnic groups in the south (including northern Vietnam). Among them, branches such as the Luoyue in what is now northern Vietnam form an important part of Vietnamese ethnic origins. This is why, in certain cultural or emotional contexts, “Millennium Baiyue” is linked to Vietnam as a symbol of shared history and heritage.

百越（Bách Việt）作为越南古称的来历：
1. 基本含义
“百越”（又写为百粤）是古代中国文献中对南方众多民族的泛称。“百”表示“众多”（虚数，非实指一百），“越”是对这些族群的统称。
它并非专指越南，而是泛指南方（长江以南至越南北部）多个不同族群，包括今天中国南方多地和越南北部的古代居民。
2. 历史起源与分布
最早记载：最早出现在战国时期《吕氏春秋》（约公元前239年）。秦汉文献中广泛使用。
地理范围：据《汉书·地理志》记载，“自交趾至会稽七八千里，百越杂处，各有种姓”。
交趾：今越南北部（河内一带，古称交趾郡）。
会稽：今浙江绍兴一带。
即从今江苏、浙江、福建、广东、广西一直延伸到越南北部。
主要分支包括：于越（浙江）、闽越（福建）、南越（广东）、西瓯、雒越/瓯雒（广西及越南北部）等。
3. 与越南的关系
古越人（尤其是雒越 / 瓯雒）是现代**越南主体民族京族（越族）**的重要祖源之一。秦汉时期，中原王朝南扩，征服南越国（赵佗建立，都番禺，今广州），并在越南北部设郡县（交趾、九真、日南）。
许多古越人被汉化（融入汉族），而南迁或留居越南北部的越人，则逐渐发展为今天的越南民族。
因此，越南人常自称与“百越”有深厚渊源，越南语中“百越”即 Bách Việt。
4. 文化特征
古代文献描述百越人“断发文身”、擅长舟船、水稻种植、青铜铸造（尤其是铜鼓文化）。这些特征在古代南方和中国岭南、越南北部都有体现。
